Transfer Student & Non-Catholic Admission Information

STUDENT TRANSFER ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Students wishing to enroll at St. Bernadette after having attended other schools must present their last two years of report cards. They must have proof of satisfactory effort and conduct. They may be refused admission if there is a history of academic or behavior problems. Students accepted into St. Bernadette after attending other schools will be on probation until the end of their first semester. If conduct, effort and grades are found to be satisfactory, the probationary status will be lifted.

NON-CATHOLIC STUDENTS

While non-Catholic students are welcome at St. Bernadette School if there is space available in a class, parents must realize that the purpose of the school is to provide an atmosphere of faith and an opportunity to learn what it means to be Catholic. Non-Catholics will be expected to participate in all classes, including religion, and to attend all activities the other students are in during class hours
Refusal of Admission Policy
In some situations students may be refused admission:
1. When students have academic, social, or behavior problems which the school does not have the resources to accommodate.
2. When families attempt to enroll to avoid attending integrated schools.
3. When families do not move but attempt to enroll students who have attended other schools, especially in later grades. Students must have proof of satisfactory effort and conduct.
4. When families have previously withdrawn or were asked to withdraw their children from St. Bernadette School.
5. When families attempt to enroll after June 30th.
In these cases enrollment is at the principal’s discretion.
